Buckfastleigh Station

With the backdrop of Dartmoor and beautiful Devon hills, Buckfastleigh is our headquarters and where most people start their journey on our line.

You can explore our well-stocked Gift and Model shop, Museum and award-winning gardens.

The station has easy access for wheelchairs, including ramps to access the trains, and reserved parking close to the platform.

There is plenty of free car parking and coach parking with a turning circle and close, level access to the platform.

Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies

Located adjacent to our car park, where you can see and learn about tropical butterflies and three species of otter.

Visit our museum and see various artefacts from the history of the South Devon Railway and the railways of Devon.

Explore our award-winning gardens at Buckfastleigh Station with plenty of space for the children to play.

Children's Play Area

Located next to our Miniature Railway Station, you can sit back on one of our picnic benches while the children play.

Riverside Walk

Enjoy a walk alongside the river Dart. A haven for wildlife so be sure to keep an eye out and see what you can spot.

Staverton Station

Staverton is a delightful, unspoilt country station that has remained largely unchanged for 100 years.

It is typical small wayside station that served the nearby village as well as the adjoining mill and local farms, some of which used to produce Devon cider.

If you have time, stop off here and take a walk and enjoy this tranquil spot and its 15th century river bridge

Staverton Station

Staverton is a charming, untouched country station that has beautifully preserved its authentic character for over a century. Stepping onto its platform feels like travelling back in time, with its timeless charm and historic atmosphere still intact after 100 years.

Totnes Riverside Station

Our award winning station at Totnes Riverside was originally a green field, branch line trains having run into the main line station in GWR and British Railways days.

What you see today has been built up from buildings rescued from all over the West Country. For instance, the station building is from Toller Porcorum on the former GWR Bridport branch in Dorset, the canopy is from Axbridge station in Somerset and the signal box was at Cradley Heath in the West Midlands.

The corrugated iron hut came from Bovey Tracey on the GWR Moretonhampstead branch in Devon and the small lamp hut came from about 20 yards away next to the site of the original Ashburton Junction signal box by the junction of our line and the main line.

Totnes Rare Breeds Farm
Come and stroke the owls, feed the red squirrels and meet the friendly hedgehogs at the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm.
Totnes Mainline Station
For nationwide connections on the national railway network, just a 5 to 10 minute walk from our station.
Totnes Town
In nearby Totnes, you can explore a vibrant mix of unique shops and quirky cafés, all set against the backdrop of rich history. Visit the town’s iconic castle, or take a stroll to the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm for a delightful and educational family experience.
