Totnes Rare Breeds Farm reopens under new management

The Totnes Rare Breeds Farm will be fully re–opening for visitors from Saturday 21st March to tie in with the SDR’s ‘Half Price’ weekend, but under the new ownership of 26-year-old Samantha Adams and her family.

Animal lover and local girl Sam has been the farm manager since 2013 and now, along with her parents, has taken over the reins of the award winning business which she intends will have the same small animal ethos and family-friendly atmosphere as previously.

Sam comments: “I’ve been involved in countryside management and animal care now for many years, so running the Rare Breeds Farm at Totnes is really my dream job. We’ll be continuing with our rare breeds and breeding programme for our small animals such as sheep, goats, poultry, plus our red squirrels too, and hope to have a release scheme for the squirrels in time.

"Looking after small animals suits me fine because I’m small too, but I’m really looking forward to this big challenge!”
